During the last five months many of us have enjoyed being out of doors walking and cycling, mainly because restrictions on indoor gatherings has been limited. Taking part in the Ride and Stride gives an opportunity for us to see each other, at a safe distance, as well as raising money for our churches.
Help support @acnbchurch and other churches across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Join in the annual ride and stride on 12 September around an itinerary of Hampshire churches, or sponsor others on their journey.
Ride and Stride is a major source of income for some of our churches and for Hampshire and the Islands Historic Churches Trust who have also made past grants to St Mark and St Denys. Half of the money raised by each participant goes back to their home church with the other half given in grants by the Trust during the year.
Tell us your plans?
Thinking of joining in Ride and Stride 2020? Tell us your plans – we’d love to hear. Sponsor forms are also available
For those who are Riding and Striding on Saturday 12th September 2020*, you are free to choose your own route and to visit as many of the churches in your area you choose to visit as you wish, between 10 am and 6 pm. You may cycle, walk, run, ride or drive to raise money for the region’s historic churches and chapels of all denominations.
During Ride and Stride 2019 a team from St Mark and the redoubtable Francois Hugo from Chilworth raised over £660 for the Hampshire and the Islands Historic Churches Trust. Captain Francois Hugo MN, at St Denys, visited every church in the Romsey Deanery by bicycle, a route he has been riding in aid of Ride and Stride for over twenty years.
