Parish churches in Ampfield, Chilworth & North Baddesley

For 7 February 2021
Dear [subscriber:firstname | default:reader]

Welcome to news for Sunday 7 February 2021. It's the First Sunday of a month so that means we get to enjoy Worship For All and all the fun that brings. This month I'm told they are looking at Wisdom, so be prepared.

Whether or not you are part of the Ampfield branch of our church family I'd encourage you to read the Messenger for February. Its a great magazine that's going good places.

There should be a Night Prayer on Tuesday from 5.15pm but it is still in in the works.

The photo of the week is actually a video from me, Ian of some Solent Views. You need to click through to Vimeo to see the full video.

With my thoughts and prayers

Worship For All Sunday 7 February

Once again bring your breakfast and join us for an online service that is a bit different from regular Sunday Worship. This time, have a piece of paper and a pen at the ready as we explore the theme of Wisdom.

February's Ampfield Messenger

February's edition of the Ampfield Messenger is now available here. We hope you enjoy reading it. This month includes part 2 of a Latvian Odyssey, an introduction to Lent, articles about a local hero and a local life and new this month is Ron and Stella’s Quiz Night.

Solent views from Ian Wyllie

Watch video extract from Ian (Opens in Vimeo) - captured in the course of essential business in the Island. Includes footage of the first Southampton call for the Liquified Natural Gas powered Container Carrier "JACQUES SAADE" operated by CMA CGN a very large shipping conglomerate. Burning LNG as the main propulsion fuel (bunkers) greatly reduces damaging emissions across the world - as well as improving air quality in ports like Southampton. It also demonstrates shipping can safely use cryogenic (very cold) liquid gas fuels which may allow future ships to run on liquid hydrogen which can be made from seawater using solar power. This may serve to avert the ongoing ecological damage caused by merchant shipping.

Your parish church has not gone away. We are offering daily prayer privately. Please join us, venture deeper into spiritual communion with our Lord, and prayer for the welfare of our communities and those in health and public service.
