Churchyard trail: remembrance season
Mon November 2, 2020 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm UTC
This Churchyard is for everyone. Whether you grieve, love the wildlife, need the space, or appreciate the mystery be welcome. Spend as much time here as you like.
Please respect those whose loved ones lie here and the plants and animals who make this space their home.
There will be four special places to reflect and pray in the churchyard during this season of Remembrance. You can do these in any order you like, and do as many or as few as you want. Look for the Hexagon and poppy at each.
At each station, there’s a way to reflect or pray with words and a way to to do the same with your senses. God hears the prayers of all. Whether you are more Christian than the Archbishop of Canterbury or haven’t ever darkened the door of a church, be welcome.
We invite you to take a pine cone and a poppy with you on the trail.
The cones are packed full of seeds: hope for new life, a powerful sign at this dark time.
The poppy reminds us of remembrance, and life lost in war and emergency.
