Community Remembers III: WWI Poppy Cascade Update

Very excited to be able to share how the poppy project continues to develop...

Very excited to be able to report the the poppy count passed 1000 individual hand knitted poppies this week in the last week of July 2018. Thank you! Please keep knitting and clicking the crochet hooks: we need about another two thousand to make the cascade from the tower of St John the Baptist a truly fitting tribute marking the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI.

Over the last week we’ve been planning and starting to think about prototyping the substructure for the cascade and thinking about what other activities might be fitting to run alongside this amazing community tribute to the end of WWI. Let us know your ideas?

Completed poppies can be donated at the Community Library , All Saints Church, The Community Life Centre, the Baptist Church and outside A H Cheaters all in North Baddesley. If you need help with a pattern or advice on knitting - please look here or drop us a message.
