Community Remembers: VI WWI Poppy Cascade Update

Over the Top will formally launch in the afternoon of 4th November 2018. Come and see the cascade at its best - enjoy refreshments and a doughnut. Throughout ‘Over the Top’ the poppy cascade that forms North Baddesley’s tribute to the end of WWI, there will be an exhibition in the church, asking the question: What would happen if we went ‘Over the Top’ Into Perfect Peace?

Thank you!

Thank you to so many people for their help already, with knitting, crocheting and tying poppies on and helping at the project meeting. The next events for tying on poppies is shown here:

 Exhibition: Into Perfect Peace

For four long years the countries fighting in WWI fought themselves to exhaustion. Again and again troops went ’Over the Top’ into mortal danger for little or no gain. Into Perfect Peace will run throughout the fortnight in the church. Explore the war history of some who served in WWI from North Baddesley. Come into the chancel to explore what perfect peace might look like. See how the unjust peace after WWI sowed seeds of violence that still burn hot today. Go ‘Over the Top’ to take action for peace in the way which is right for you.

Thank you again to our supporters

Thank you again to the ‘Companions of St John’, our financial supporters: Test Valley Arts Foundation, North Baddesley Village Day Committee and to the increasing number people of giving in kind to support the project: especially Jason Bruno Construction and Restoration.
