Community Remembers: WWI Poppy Cascade June Update

We are excited by the number of poppies that are pouring in from across the village for this community project. We need lots more to make the cascade so please keep crafting!

Over 400 poppies have been donated last time we counted them all! We are so grateful for all the donations from across the village for this community projected. We need three thousand or more to create an amazing cascade tribute. Help us to honour all those whose lives were changed for ever by WWI.

We’ve been moved by the effort that is coming from the community to make poppies, donate wool, and host donation pails. People who have never lifted a knitting needle or a crochet hook are grabbing some and having a go.

Thanks are due to too our specialist building contractor Jason Bruno has also been very generous with his time. With his help we have worked out how the poppies can be safely mounted to the fragile tower of St John the Baptist.
