Emergency news

Parish churches in Ampfield, Chilworth & North Baddesley

On Maundy Thursday, 9th April 2020
Dear [subscriber:firstname | default:reader]

Welcome to the newsletter for Holy Week and Easter 2020. We are live streaming again this evening (Maundy Thursday) at 7pm and hope you can join us here. This is slightly earlier than originally advertised so that we are finished well before 8pm so that those who wish to can 'clap for carers'. If you would like to join in with the meditation tonight, you might like to have a small table, a candle, some bread or biscuits and a cross. If you don't have any or all of these, don't worry; either improvise (perhaps draw a cross, or form one out of a necklace), or use your imagination.

We want to say a huge thank you to all of you for adapting so well to this new online way of being church and for bearing with us as we continue to work out the technical practicalities. We are pleased that Ian is feeling better and able to answer my daft questions but Facebook is still misbehaving slightly so some of it is still not as smooth as we would like.

We will be online again tomorrow (Good Friday) and on Easter Sunday (for more details, see below).

    Happy Easter

      Good Friday and Easter Sunday

As we follow Jesus' journey to the cross we will be reflecting on the 7 last words of Jesus during at 2pm on Friday 10th April. Join us from the front page of the website. And we will be live streaming worship at 9:30am on Easter Sunday Morning. The live stream will be on our Facebook page and hopefully from the front page of our website too.

      Keeping connected

Our activity is now all online but we are aware that not everybody is online. If there is someone you know of who would normally be engaging with the church in person but who is not online, please encourage them to ring the vicarage or (ideally with their permission) let us know their name so we can keep in touch with them.

Whether or not you have been on social media up to this point we ask you to consider doing this now. If you don't like it - you can always delete it after the crisis has passed.

Meanwhile. In other news the seasons roll on. Please send us lots of pictures. We look forward to sharing and seeing what everyone is up to.
Your parish church has not gone away. We are offering daily prayer privately. Please join us, venture deeper into spiritual communion with our Lord, and prayer for the welfare of our communities and those in health and public service.
